Restorative Practices are based on principles that emphasize the importance of positive relationships as central to building community and involves processes that restore relationships when harm has occurred. Restorative Justice - a subset of Restorative Practices - brings together persons harmed with persons responsible for harm, promoting dialogue, accountability, and a stronger sense of community. Having greater consciousness in the communication skills and tone we choose to use with one another, can positively impact our relationships, and, thus, our sense of connectedness, collaboration and community. Understanding the dynamic process that occurs with communication, and equipping yourself with a verbal and non-verbal skill set, you can become a more effective communicator, faced with less conflict and discord. Please arrive 10 minutes early, commit to staying through the whole event, and bring a writing utensil with you.
